The use of ribosomic genes in the identification of organism of the Leishmania genus.

چکیده
A estrutura dos genes ribossômicos de Leishmania foi caracterizada, através da determina ção de seus padrões de restrição, com o objetivo de descrever regiões do gene que permitam a identifica ção destes organismos. A análise comparativa dos padrões de restrição de seis espécies de Leishmania permitiu identificar heterogeneidade intra e interespecífica na organização das regiões espaçadoras do gene ribossômico. Verificou-se polimorfismo em seqüên cias do espaçador não transcrito em todas as espécies. Um padrão, comum para o gênero, foi definido pela enzima Pvu II na seqüência que codifica para a subunidade 18 S. Padrões espécie-específicos fo ram identificados pelas enzimas Bam H l, Sau 3A e Ava II, resultantes de heterogeneidade nos diferentes espaçadores. Os resultados apresentados permitem a identificação das espécies analisadas e a definição de regiões da seqüência do gene adequadas para o desenvolvimento de sondas de interesse para utili zação clínica e epidemiológica.
